Ursula Bachman’s (Switzerland) work relates to inspirations of urban public spaces. She has found a network of points of orientation, otherwise easily to be overlooked in a big city – the manhole covers and in casts she transforms their relief-like patterns with small interventions like applying pigment, enhancing structures, even lighting. This way, she creates circular microcosms, which significantly remind of models of world and cosmos, as floor installation assembled together in a peculiar system, seemingly confident yet never seen before.
